Bad hair day

Kaley has lovely fine hair. This morning it was ornery.

Good Night December 12th.

Tonight I only got 1 story because I was not listening. I did, however, help clean up some of the tiny papers that I cut up tonight.

And bubbular bread.

Kainoa & Kaley love Kekoa

We're all in the sunny-side up club so we'll be good friends for life.
Can't wait to meet you during Thanksgiving buddy.

C is for Made in China

Uncle Matthew brought us some fun-looking cookies. They are made in China, imported by a company in NY. I didn't feel very good after this treat. Maybe I got tricked by the Yellow #5 and Red #40.

Kickin' in Kool Kicks

Auntie Tracy got Kaley the Chucks a while ago. Kaley's tiny feet grew a tiny-bit so they fit now. We bad.

Meanwhile, Dad's got me in this crazy Japanese contraption that catches hair so he can trim my buzz.

A very big birthday for a girl with big presence.

Happy Birthday Kaley. I love you sooooooo much.

These extra sprinkles are for wealth, health, & longevity.

Swing out sister

I can't believe that I have been a big brother for almost one year. Where does the time go? We''ll surely be tearing down the house on Monday with a birthday bomb.

With mom working, our weekdays are a crazy obstacle course, but our weekend days are idyllic. I am passing time learning to become a construction tycoon. Here, you can see I am building a tower. It will house peacocks. Peacocks have big feathers and fly slowly, in case you didn't know.

Good ole Red, White & Blue

Another interruption for a bizarre conversational interlude (again at the kitchen table).

Mom: (Picking up a small flag that Noa had left laying around) What's this for?
Noa: It's for eating watermelons.
Mom: Hm... wow. What happens if you don't have a flag with your watermelon?
Noa: Watermelon's gonna be dead.

: : : * * Funny Quote ALERT * * : : :

We interrupt this semi-regular blog to bring you this dialog:

Open on bucolic kitchen scene.

Mom: "Noa, what do you like better.... Home or Ashley's House [daycare]?"

Noa (chomping down breakfast): "Home."

Mom: "Why?"

Noa: "Food's better..."

Ready to go AWOL

If there's a draft, I'm ready to save some damsels in distress.

In the meantime, I hobnob with royalty. This is Princess Jordan.

Summer Lovin' Had Me a Blast

San Diego, Santa Barbara (Solimar Beach), Santa Monica (Playa Vista, rather). We covered a lot of tracks in a week.

Hay is for Horses

That's my new favorite phrase. I learned it from school. See? You can learn a lot from school. School (aka Ashley's house) was on a 2 week break, so Gramma, El Grande & Holly came up from the south and we drove to the mountains. Summer in Tahoe is fun. You can ride ponies. I rode Cherise and felt the wind in my velvet hat and a skip in my saddle. Although the ride was so wiggly, I let dad take me around the trail twice.

Handsome Hair

Despite my dad's heroic efforts to cut my hair, we let a 'pro' do his magic. It wasn't quite the shorn-look that mamma wanted, but I am gracefully brutish anyhow.

Pretty in Pink

Kaley's got this colorrific new Barbie-Pink cast on her foot from the hospital. I'd like to say that she shattered her ankle in a gravity-defying leap from an oak tree in the back, like a howler monkey, but the explanation is much more mundane than that. Now she can really kick butt. Har, har.

Bigger boy, bigger bed

So I'm home 'sick' on Friday and this new bed arrives in my room. I guess I'm cool with it.
My dreams are getting so big that my head hurts now.

My room is feeling a bit cluttered and I feel psychologically robbed. Maybe Oprah can help.

BTW, this lamp belonged to my Uncle Matthew when he was a kid. It ticks me off that the li'l lamp lad is allowed to suck his thumb freely, all-day, all-the-time. I can't wait til I get my own apartment.

Lazy days of April

It's hot. Let's inflate a big hunk o' plastic and invite some cousins to cool thare dogs!

Kaley was doing her own sort of floating inside. She has such delicate, fair skin.

Blondes have more fun

And so do I when I get to party on the BART train with this gorgeous posse. Neighbor Cate was looking like a baby bachelorette with her birthday crown and bubbly grins. We rode into the city and had kicks at the Ferry Building. Sassy Sasha came along for the ride, too. Luckily there was enough of The Noa to keep the ladies happy. Happy 3rd Birthday Cate!

Parting with the Poof

For the first five months of her life, Kaley had a magnificent Poof. I won't reveal if it was natural, or the result of hours of teasing and heating, but whatever it was, we all loved it. Au voir lovely levitating locks!

Gong Xi Fa Choi!

What better way to celebrate like good Chinese (or half-Chinese) children than to eat! And we love to eat. Kaley got her first taste of solids today. Mamma gave her some hippy rice cereal. I have developed a much more refined palette. I love to gobble up Pesto!

Kaley has this fancy new marshmallow-like seat that they must have gotten from a Smurf garage sale. Man, she gets all the cool stuff.
